people pull off airlines all the time. it's not uncommon to drop your gear, pull 5th wheel release, and get side tracked on your lines. (or whatever trailers you pull).
the bigger pain, is if you do everything BUT lower the gear. then your in trouble.
small companies are everywhere. some advertise, some don't. but are around to be found, in some form, shape, or manner.
as for your dac, the key is to work for 90% of the companies that don't use it. not the 10% that do. (megas)
How long?

RogerThat,
You might try UZ Trans out of MO. T-Trucker works there and they run him pretty hard. Its a small company of 50+ trucks.

Sue Vinje Trucking has 50 trucks. Small by today's comparisons.

Ok, this is exactly what happened. To a T. I was like 3 months into my driving career with Werner. I a rookie, wanted to always be on time for appointments. They scheduled a load pick up like 1 hour from my drop of this loaded trailer I had at the drop yard. So, I got to the drop yard dropped my first trailer no problem. Hooked up to another trailer. Was in a rush, got to the back of the trailer and found that it was loaded and had a seal on it. Jogged to the side of the trailer put the landing hear down and the Werner truck had a 5th wheel release in the cab. So once I put the landing gear down I just hopped in the truck did the release and detached from the trailer. The glad hands were still on the trailer, and the electrical line was still in tact. I then immeaditly sent a message to them on the Qualcomm saying I would be down I just pulled me airlines apart. -
I think you worry to much. A company that will use "pulled apart airlines" against you is a company you don't want to work for.
May I ask a question? If you're content at your current job why are you looking for another? -
I want to stay where I am for now. I also want to get into tankers to get that feeling of driving them. Then my ultimate goal is to get into this small 10 truck local chemical tanker company in my town.

MY DAC is clean but I have been told by multiple trucking companies that if its not a moving violation they don't care anymore because they know there companies that will screw drivers when they quit. that's a quote from swift werner raven transport.

How long you wait depends on your level of training and your backround in the industry. I started with CR England and stayed with them long enough until I was personally comfortable with the job, and driving. From England I went to a local P/DC job, for the purpose of homing my shifting and backing skills. I also took a mechanic apprentiship detail and passed the ASE certification. When I was confident in my abilities to turn wrenches and drive, I started looking for smaller outfits. I waited 7 years for this. The wait was well worth it, because I found myself at a small company with a fleet of 10 W9's.
