i don't see how it's cheating. cuz it only takes me 11 hours to do a rebar load to albuquerque. 705 miles. 75 mph.
the first hill isn't that bad. i can climb it at 60. the second hills are small ups and downs. both in utah. and it's all little hills in new mexico.
now put me back in the first truck i was driving. then we'd back up to 14 hours.

One big factor is where you drive and the amount if traffic. Most employers want to push you so that you make them the most money.

My truck runs 67. I also have an e-log. I still can run 700+ miles a day. Anyone can. You just need to know how to work it. And I live in the northeast so I know all about construction/traffic/ etc that comes with it. Then it's not only how you run, but when you run.

For example, I logged 10.75 hrs from the Petro in Joplin, MO to the Love's in Odessa, TX (stopped there to take my brother and sister-in-law out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. Young couple + toddler + new job and apartment = never having money). Distance of 675 miles, showing a 15 minute On Duty stop for breakfast in Vinita, OK at the Will Rogers service plaza (no mice this time), 30 minute Off Duty stop in Lawton, OK for lunch (I've been practicing for the eventual requirement for such a break) and a 15 minute On Duty fuel stop in Tye, TX (actually made it out in 15 minutes, shocking!). Included a unlogged 5 min stop just outside of Tulsa when I thought I heard one of my tires blow, which turned out to not have been the case, all were fine), a 10 min bathroom stop at the final service area on the H. E. Bailey Turnpike and a 5 min bathroom stop at the rest area on US277 south of Haskell, TX and . Which calculated to a total travel time of 11.75 hrs. Left Joplin at 5:00AM MDT and logged myself stopping in Odessa at 4:45PM.
Average speed of just under 63 mph, thanks to the unlogged breaks, I usually can average 65-66 mph. My truck is ungoverned but I set my cruise to 68 mph which seems to give my truck the optimal balance between fuel consumption and transit time. -
4000 miles in 70 hours require and average speed of 4000/70 which is 57.1 miles per hour. So you have to do 57.1 X 11 or 628.1 miles in your 11 hour day. Your truck needs to do 65 mph on the highway for you to make up for city time. I would say you need to run hard and pee in a bottle. Toss that bottle out the window and keep on charging. Only you stand between your company and the bankers who are wanting to throw you all to the wolves. Never give up. Never take a day off. We are all so proud of you.
