Been driving for over 35 years have over 2mil. miles
will be 58 in January it's not like it use to be, take it you break down on side of the road back in the day I'm talking 1978 to the mid 90's 3 -4 trucks would pull over and see if they could get you back up and running and tell you to pay it forward, sh****** now days they don't even change lanes. You use to be able to talk to anyone any time of the day or night from California to Jacksonville Florida and back. These new bread of drivers no kind of respect for anybody or anything not all but most and with FMCSA and the rest of them with all these restrictions and raising our insurance coverage has us old timers are calling it quits it use to be fun now it's starting to feel like a job and I'm an owner operator. Trying to run us out of business, this Country was founded by geniuses and it's being ran by imbeciles right now.!!

With HOS regs, we don't have time to stand around and shoot the #### anymore.

Back before cell phones, anyone, semi or 4 wheeler would have several people stop and check. That slowly tapered off when more and more people would raise there cell phone and say that someone was on the way. Nowadays, If someone needs help and does not have a cell phone or needs other help, they can flag passing vehicles down.

Its just a different time, thanks largely to technology.
