How many Million Milers do we have?

I agree with this, a lot of my driving has been local. I put about 45,000 a year on my truck now but I usually work over 50 hours a week so I'm exposed to a lot in that 45,000. Most of it is with a long tractor and trailer in a major metro area. But a million accident free miles is an accomplishment regardless of the field.

Think about the way we used to run. Almost never less than 12k/mo and usually closer to 15, sometimes more. You can figure it only takes about 6.5 years to turn a million at that rate

 

He used to run hard during the limited summer months and then park it for most the winter months. He made #### good money doing what he was doing and he was smart what he did with it. Grandma used to always tell my mom it sucks having him gone but the reward of having him around 6/7 months out of the year made it worth it. My Grandpa used to call him self simi-retired for all of his trucking career up there, sure do miss him!

 

Same here. I've been stuffing my face with my CDL since '03 but 6.5 of those years were local where 150 miles was a long day. Figure I'm somewhere around 8-900k.

 

I have 2 million with zero accidents and one ticket but the majority of those miles were done hauling freight that could come yell at me in the middle of the night.

 

How many years to get over 5 mil ?

 

Im somewhere between 1.5 and 2 90 percent local/semi local round 18 years.

 

1,000,000 achieved March, 2013. Two preventables, no tickets since 2004(?).
