I agree with this, a lot of my driving has been local. I put about 45,000 a year on my truck now but I usually work over 50 hours a week so I'm exposed to a lot in that 45,000. Most of it is with a long tractor and trailer in a major metro area. But a million accident free miles is an accomplishment regardless of the field.

Think about the way we used to run. Almost never less than 12k/mo and usually closer to 15, sometimes more. You can figure it only takes about 6.5 years to turn a million at that rate

I have 2 million with zero accidents and one ticket but the majority of those miles were done hauling freight that could come yell at me in the middle of the night.
