You say that until one hangs up half way up the southbound hill south of Cincy at rush hour in the #2 lane. But if you like auto's fine ... I prefer a stick considering bad snow/ice road conditions, tough backing scenarios, and controlled mountain driving. The traffic argument simply doesn't outweigh all the other cons of autos IMHO

Ahhh yes the easy route. I know it well.

I laugh when I see those fat lazy slobs at Wal Mart tooling around on their electric scooters. I say to myself "That's the type of person that would drive an automatic truck. Too lazy to shift and too lazy to walk."

My stupid wife bought the kids a Wii 2-3 Christmases ago so they could imagine that they were playing sports. It just makes life so much easier. I hid the stupid thing.

It boggles my mind the stupidity of people. And for what? We are not talking about a difficult skill.....shifting a truck OMG what has become of us?

Instead of the easier tool, how about we choose the better tool and learn how to use it properly? For now at least, the better tool is a manual trans

Has anyone else noticed that you dont see kids playing outside anymore. We have a playground, baseball field & basketball court in our neighborhood, its a rare occurence to see kids using them. I guess they stay inside and play video games. I couldnt wait to get ouside and play. I went outside right after breakfast, and stayed outside til dark except for being home for lunch & dinner and I loved it. True its a much different world now but kids need exercise and fresh air. Is it b/c parents feel their kids arent safe outside b/c of the child abductions & pervs nowadays? My kids dont feel that way about their kids, they've been educated about staying away from strangers & staying safe. My grandkids tell me when they play outside they play with each other b/c there's usually no-one out. Its going to be a mess in 10 or so years when all these brats go out into the work force.

It's getting that way everywhere. I lived in a gated community in Tennessee and now in Nevada and it's real quiet. Many children, but they pretty much stay home and inside, including mine. I spend lots of time in China and it's the same; even the subways are quiet due to everyone looking at I-Phones and handheld computers; all ages, even preschoolers. The wife takes our children to swimming classes, about 4 hours a day; good exercise and interaction with other people.

Yep, big problems in the work force; hard to interview people that can't communicate face to face.

I've been stuck in the Cut In The Hill many times and would LOVE to have an automatic sometimes as we crawl along at 3 MPH. I'm about to start truck shopping, and I'm going to look seriously at going auto this time.

My truck idles along in 5th gear @ 3 mph. If that's all traffic is doing, 3rd gear and just use the throttle and ease on along. If I need 2nd or 4th gear, I just float 'em. Knock it out of gear if it looks like I'll be stopped for a while and don't put the clutch in 'til traffic ahead starts to ease forward again. If your left leg gets to hurting in traffic, you're doing something wrong.

When I get to where I am to lazy to shift my truck just shoot me in the head !!!

Shifting is part of the great thing about driving a truck in my book !!!
It is part of what separates us from the four wheeling idiots .

Oh wait that explains the whole thing now that I see it in writing .
