I want to know how do you protect yourself in case of a fraudulent claim? When a shipper puts a warm load? Do you physically check for temperature of the product before loading? Do you record the temperature showing on your reefer how many degrees it dropped after the cargo was loaded? How much space do you leave between the door and the cargo for the air to circulate?
The smart reefer guys carry an infrared temp gun and a digital temp probe or a manual one, and pulp the load. Or only pulp the load if you have a concern. Such as, they are loading frozen or fresh product on a dry dock. There is also load monitoring devices like ibrite. If your unit maintained the set point temperature the entire trip, and this is verified by a unit download, generally the shipper will be responsible
