    "for a 48 flat."
I'm trying to figure out a quote for a customer. Anyone have a ballpark average of how many pallets and the approximate weight for a load of pallets on a 48'?

At 16 pallets per stack, that's 416 pallets. Just under 17,000 lbs.

That's very ballpark, figuring a 40 lb pallet with stacks roughly 8' tall, and 26 stacks.

also, what kind of pallets? Cheap wood pallets, CHEP pallets, or plastic pallets? CHEP are going to be heavier than the cheap pallets, i think the plastic pallets are a little lighter than the CHEP pallets are, but not sure.

Weight is not the issue with pallets. It’s wind resistance. It will pull harder than a 50000lbs of steel. Especially if there is any cross wind.

Its a load of pallets.... so that number would be more like 200 +/- pallets, not 24

Either way the basis of each pallet weight is there so the math of stacks of 15 pallets by 24 (360 pallets) is there for the calculated load weight.
