So I just wrote up my 4th or 5th windshield cracked from a rock chip that grew into a monster crack in the more than 2 years I have been doing this so far.

I was just curious if that's normal? When I drive my POV around, I've only replaced one windshield for a crack in my life.

Also wrote up trailer for the non-existent chafed airlines issue. But that's a different thread.

One time I kid you not, I got it replaced and it was only 1 home time later, I was laying in the back and I heard that *SNAP* sound, then my codriver hears me in the back, cursing. BRAN NEW WINDSHIELD

That rock chip sound is almost sounding like music. Also bugs make different sounds like music too

We’ve had several windows crack or get hit within the 6 years I’ve been working at the company.

The truck I’m driving, brand new windshield to replaced the cracked one.

Then 2 years later, a big stone from another truck. I just stuck my gps mount around the stone hit spot.

Our dump truck, replaced both front windows, 3 years ago, has several stars on both.

1987 Pete, passenger side cracked all over.

Seems that every time a new window gets installed, everything that can crack or shatter the glass wants to target that new glass.

Since I’ve stuck the gps mount over the spot, window is now over 5 years old without any other extra damage to it.

I’d swear if I get a new window installed, it’ll be damaged in short time.

I'm at once a year so far, at 300 bucks apiece installed I don't complain too much.

Personally I have never gone through a windshield.
I do know some one who has. I can say that from what he said, I could not recommend it.

I seem to always get the rocks that blow the glass out on the inner layer too. #### gravel haulers.

I go through one about every two years or so, sometimes a crack sometimes sand blasted from a sandstorm.

I seem to get it in threes.
A few years ago I replaced three in four months.
Three weeks ago, drivers side, a larger stone even shattered the inner glass spraying my face. Fortunately I wear glasses.
Then this week, same thing on passenger side.
My 2016 Cascadia has the older style roped in windshields which only take an experienced glass guy 14 minutes to change vs the glued in ones that take several hours for the glue to set.
