    Ok time machines good stuff.

Refer St. Paul to Chicago-Land and turn. .37 cpm
    Alternating 2 lds wk-1, 3 lds wk-2.

    For easy figures
    Wk-1 = 1600 miles
    Wk-2= 2400 miles

    50 wks a yr = $37,000 + unload, dock bump ect. Easily $40k with 3 off 2 off rotation.

OTR drivers should be making enough to justify being OTR. 40k imho isn't enough to justify the lifestyle in the long term. Sure getting started its fine.

Well then, here's a question for those who say OTR needs to make enough money to "justify the lifestyle".

How much is enough to justify the lifestyle?

Hopefully your pay is not dependent on proper grammar and spelling.

My dad was retired trucker. He has since passed away. He drove for 39 years with a few various companies, all Teamsters union jobs. He made more money than some are making today and had a great pension.

One time years ago while going through some papers I stumbled upon an old W2 of his from 1968. I was astounded to see he grossed $32,000 in 1968. Only problem with all of it is that every company he worked for is now out of business and has been for years. Not saying that is a good thing, just that it is the reality of today.
