26 cents per mile after you finish their 3 months training..while training about 250 take home per week...if you last long enough in a truck with 3 people in it..
dont do it. they give you a little to play with your head then rob you you will get nothing you will go in the hole
i thank cre for the experience. i ran comapny in 06-07, ran lease op 10-11....i was home 6 days in 7 months, being a trainer and running solo i seen the milage i was SUPPOSE to get maybe twice! nvr made team miles...and it wasnt for bad driving or not staying on time or compliant...i did everything right and safe. i turned my truck in..i have a family to see more than twice a year and bills to pay. maybe it was both my dispatches screwing me over, but i found better. but i thank them for the experiences and the ability to learn being a lease op and trainer.
all my freight was on time except one hot load from conway and that was from my student running over 300 mi in the wrong direction. on time freight depends on the driver. i check my load assignment and make sure i can make it before i accept it. that would be proper trip planning. dispatch isnt perfect and they will give you loads that are behind and if you have to take it, make sure you tell them when you can get it there or that you need a swap. i was a lease, so i had a new 2011 cascadia dd15, no problems, loved it. their trailers.... are decent. i never liked hauling the 16000 series, but the 18000, 19000, and new 20000 are niiice! they pull real well heavy or light. the skirts can get int he way with down sloped docks tough. wrecked trucks..... well hello, trucks dont wreck themselves.
Did you have many maint. problems with your truck being a trainer? Would you say honestly that a CRE is not a good place for a family man because of home time?
like i said, i was home twice 6 days total in 7months....i had to threaten to abandon my load or drop it at dropyards to get home time! no lie. thats the only way i got the time and the was requesting and being approved for it weeks ahead of time and still not getting it for a month or more after i wanted it! the only maint i had was my prevenative maint and i had students crack a cpl of my mirrors, and a chipped windsheild, then i got backed into at a fuel island in PA by an idiot and that cost me a pretty penny. $1k deductable and $2500 later and ins only paid out 1250 and it took forever to see that. i kept track of when filters and everythign were due and if there were recalls on the truck.
