to Richter: That is awesome. Almost unbelievable, but awesome! It shows the power of a paid off truck. Is there any cost to you for the trailer from TMC? Another question, if you don't mind. How long do you typically stay out, and have you developed certain lanes or go just about every where? Sorry!, that was two questions !!!

Lol, i can show you pay stubs...the only thing those are missing is maintenance. Insurance, permits, plate, fuel, road tax etc is taken out.

Truck only cost me 20K. The decent mpg is what makes me a lot of money. Keeping fuel cost down is major. I make 5% less pay for using their trailer which is why it makes sense to buy my own long term. Short term though, im still making tons of Green. I norm stay out 2-3 weeks. The week your going home doesnt pay as well since you have to take freght int he right direction and not he best thats available. i dont have dedicated lanes, although my FM knows what areas I like to run. Truth is, I take thigh highest pay freight going to good areas to reload.

That maintenance figure is so way off, it isn't funny. Never buy tires neither I guess. No cell fone, and so on as well.....
Only way I would believe you NET $150k is if I saw your taxes. So, sorry, I have been at it too long to look at those figures and say I agree.
.13 a mile to run a truck after fuel, even paid off, is wishful thinking in my experience.
Either there is some padding going on, or the IRS simply love you due to you not claiming back 1/4 of the stuff you should be claiming back.
Figure I'd throw this out there before everyone starts laughing.....

Before you tell me i don't know what im doing, maybe you should learn how to run your business. I run 2000-2500 miles per week. Average is 2200ish. At .13 per mile thats 286 dollars.

I lube the truck myself. It has an ops ecopure, so i dont change the oil unless the oil sample says i need to. filter and sample cost 60 bucks, plus 1 gallon of pit to top off filters (ful syn rotela t6 22 bucks). I do service every 20,000 miles

Tires come out to 1.3 cents per mile of useable life
Service come out to .004 cents per mile
There are other small things, washer fluid, repairs, new seat etc, but its not much. If you do preventative maint and treat your truck right, you can keep main down. I know guys who have it down to .07. I think I need to get mine lower. As long as your truck stay on the road an out of the shop you can run it very cheaply.

That being said, the trucks about get about 5k-10k worth of maintenance done. (new motor mounts, new clutch, fass fuel system, brake work, PP muflers, replace charge air cooler). This will up my average for a little while but its major work that gets done once every 1/4 million. My motor mounts tool 600k to break, they wont break again. The brakes are the only reacuring item thats being worked on. Works out to a few cents a mile. Only reason it needs all that work is becuase its been more pfofitable to keep the left door closed an keep it moving. it will get better mpg when its done tho

those expenses was legal write off`s like 1099`s to the guys who was leased on,
trailer rentals, meals per diem etc and all the usual stuff.I own one trailer and rented 7 more for 300 a month and did a bunch of drop and hooks at wal mart dc`s.The work was real easy this year compared with previous years.I was out between 2-3 months and those guys carried the company while I was sick.I also pay myself a monthly salalry plus a shareholder distribution which save payroll taxes.

Yeah, I need to learn the business I have been successfully doing for @23yrs..... Now where is that brick wall?
Paying cash for that new trailer I am guessing, after netting $150k and all?

Nope, ill finance it and pay it off quick. I paid cash for my truck. Even with great credit (825) the truck financing companies don't want to give me a huge truck loan with no previous borrowing in this industry. (i want to buy a glider or 2) I could go with an unsecured loan, but then interest rates are through the roof. If i finance a trailer and pay it off, the truck companies will then be willing to loan me money for a truck which is on next years plan.
