Freightliner century with an b14 cummins. I know shops are safer but I've been burned by mechanics way to much (here in san Antonio) I'm feeling up to the challenge on tackling this job. I've somewhat done it before. :)

I can fully understand wanting to do it yourself, I love the feeling of accomplishment after saving yourself money, and tackling it yourself. If you got the time and tools to do it yourself, I know what I would do...that being said, the biggest part I would worry about, as stated by truckmechanic is getting the trans back in, it can be a pain! Sometimes 20 mins sometimes hours, having someone to help you makes a big difference. If I were you I might consider renting/borrowing a heavy duty type, I know I wouldn't want to tackle it with a cheap jack. I've done 15-20 clutch jobs, always used a good jack and little common sense, never had any problems, just some frustrations :biggrin_2551: make sure to check the clutch and rear motor mounts while she's out. Just trying to help you make an informed decision, good luck!
