They probably meant if smb is thrown out of their seat not wearing seat belt then EMT. might need a shovel to scrape them off.
I want to put out some info that some may not know, for the future EOBR mandate... IF you have a smart phone, there is an app called BigRoad and it is for doing logs. I use it all the time and love it, no pencil mistakes but, just like paper. Anyway, if you use that, there is a BT adapter that you can buy, it plugs into your ecm port and will send a signal via BT to your logs when the truck moves/stops.
My truck is an 87 kw, 170k on Inframe and just had the power divider done a couple weeks ago, I keep seeing that the unit must plug into the truck, my truck is all mechanical there is nothing to plug into, no computer, and the mandate is coming 2017, what will happen to guys like me I know I'm not the only mechanical truck on the road
I think there will be a bunch of law suits to fight this thing or, like all Government laws,,,people with mechanical trucks will be grandfathered in and they will write a new law, to remove the mechanical trucks slowly but surely. I just pray that the mandate for EOBR's never passes... I see more and more mechanical trucks on the road and that is a good thing to me....
Ya its actually cheaper all around d to run a mechanical truck, less expensive maintenance as these new trucks are constantly breaking down for little things that shouldn't even be on a truck In my opinion, I hope and I'm willing to get involved to fight for the older ways to continue, especially looking into contact my state official to be against reclassification of owner ops as employees
For those asking about qualcomms and if they're available to an owner/op, the answer is yes. Omnitracs is the company making them and there are several models. The least expensive unit is the MCP 50. It's just a little smaller than the industry standard MCP 200. It sells for $799 and has many service options. The basic option will cost you $19.99 per month. Drivers Daily Log runs on notebooks or windows supporting tablets. Buy it once with free upgrades. http://www.driversdailylog.com/ Otherwise there are apps available for the android, yet I dont know how good they are.
Buy it once, but only good for 3 machines. Then you have to buy it again. In all of the years of expensive software for taxes and such, not one has ever limited me on the number of machines I could put it on. I have software from 15 years ago and moved it between the six different computers during that period. As far as Celadon, DDL will not comply with their electronic log system through quallcom.
