What brand ? I have put a couple grand worth of parts into my tripac in the last couple years and it dont run currently because of electrical faults that i have no desire to chase down.. I know @PoleCrusher has had bad luck as well with his tripac.

Well ur the first person i ever heard of that has had good luck with tk evolution. Maybe buying it new and doing good maintenace helps. Mine came from factory on my truck but was 5 years old by the time i got it.. Think i got stuck with the maintenace bill from the previous big fleet owner

great points! Maybe some day some brilliant engineer will figure out a cheap way to run a diesel fired heater to warm the cab. While we’re being crazy optimistic, maybe they’ll invent some way to heat the block.

they’d probably call them “bunk heaters” and “block heaters” or something silly like that. Would be great to have, though!

Cool I just hope when they do invent this “block heater” they have a contract with every single truckstop to allow us to plug it in during the winter.

100% agree that used anything is many times someone else’s problem or neglected maintenance item
If anything I probably over maintain my stuff and I’m sure that made a big difference on how it ran

Plus if you purchase something new then you’re usually pretty quick to notice any weird noise or quirk and fix things before they become issues

Oh ask Crowe in Memphis that's what they told me. It's only the Studio with the futon bed/sofa.

I'm of the same opinion as you are. I'm mounting a minisplit, truck already has a webasto bunk heater, just trying to figure out the generator. I want a diesel plumbed into my fuel tanks, but may end up with a gas generator due to dimensions onmy preference on where to mount it. What have you decided on for a genset? Just not finding a compact diesel generator with electric start, any leads. I had a dynasys on my bosses truck. It was pretty nice, but wasn't very reliable. 3 trips to a service center in 6 months. I may just get a small diesel 6hp engine and put a pulley on it with an alternator. Then run the minisplit off an inverter.

Yanmar makes them, if you can find one. Also real small Chinese ones on Alibaba. Almost all are 50 Mghz or ? instead of 60. For European markets. Don’t really know how that all relates. A couple Chinese versions I found supposedly could run at 50 or 60. Info is real sketchy on Alibaba.com. I found one distributor in the US. Didn’t make note of it. Price was triple.

Check with Colaw RV in MO... they possibly would have a wrecked diesel pusher being parted in their graveyard and sell you the generator and interior control panel for it. Heck, you could probably get the inverter/charge controller with it and have it run the AC/DC and battery charging functions on your rig.

This one has a 7.5kw Onan Quiet Diesel Generator... 2000 Holiday Rambler Imperial Motorhome Parts | Colaw RV Used Parts Rig up a mount where the standard APU would go for a fraction of the cost and triple the power supply.
