Dave's stirring the pot again. Don't take him too seriously, he's just having fun.

I usually stay out 2 weeks and sometimes 3 and I take 1 day off for every week out.
If you take off much more than that, you obviously don't need money very bad.

Your home should be on the road. This way all the time on the road is home time. Therefore, the only time when you are not on home time is when you are not on the road.

Well had full PM done. Change oil. Water separator, fuel, oil, coolant filters. Chassis lube, 5th wheel serviced. Brakes adjusted, drives rotated, wipers replaced, front drive axle new brakes, all tires to correct PSI, found one drive with bad stem.
    $500 out the door.

You guys aren't getting it. It's totally unfair. This hometime day. Not deliver load and get truck serviced. I mean if the one drive goes flat that's a company issue isn't it? If it fails a level 1 for brakes, am I expected to keep up on all of this??????

Now the OM wants me to get the paperwork scanned before I crack a Dos Equis Amber and put a New York on.

    It's total BS.

The cats had hometime all day. Both sleeping when I got home. Totally unfair.

I just stay moving until I'm ready to take time off at home .
Then I tell my dispatcher when ill be leaving again ...sometimes I know he doesent like it but TFB.
I'm making good money where I am but a person needs downtime or they will burn out and there's more to life than trucking .

I thought you “owned” your truck !!!! Really!....... Sounds like a lease to me. They want to own you as a company driver. But you pay the expenses. Guess it works for a few. But not me. I run my own numbers and choose when and not to work.
