$379 in most areas in Sacramento. I know this because there are signs posted stating red light violations carry a fine of $379.

Google say 75 and judge can raise it to 100 plus court costs .. But that is for red light cameras I'd assume a ticket by a officer is similar

Here in MD, camera tickets are $75.

Now, here's the kicker. Camera tickets go out to the registered owner of the vehicle, not necessarily the person driving. So hypothetically if you let someone borrow your car, you could find yourself getting a red light ticket in the mail that you know nothing about.

Furthermore, I will never be convinced that red light cameras are in any way about safety, and neither should anyone else. If that were the case, they wouldn't be shortening the yellow light times at intersections where the cameras are installed. Yes, that DOES go on, at least around these parts.

That said, camera tickets are still preferable to hand written ones from LEOs due to not carrying points because of the registered owner vs current driver issue. Also, camera tickets don't have to be reported to your company because they don't appear on your revord. Thank heavens for small favors.

Well.. It varies according to how rich or poor (greedy) the county you're caught in and if your a "good ole boy" born and bred there "local". My cousin ran a red light in Clay County Missouri. Saw it change, middle of intersection... so he goosed the gas. This ever happen to you? Anyway cop seen him... said he would have gave him a warning if he wouldn't have floored it. Anyway, net result ,they tore $137 out of his pocket.
