yeah he's right. people move all the time. the only issue you'd have doing something like that would be not being able to show 12 month's residency so you'd have to pay out of state tuition, but it still would be far less than the 3-4000 or more that i've seen alot of people pay. there are ways around everything if you want it bad enough and are willing to get creative. another plus of the school i went to and something you should look for anywhere you end up going is whether or not they have more than just the major carriers and bottom feeders that recruit from them. the school i'm talking about has about half the majors and ones you don't want to go to, and then half are smaller, more local companies like the one I work for and some even smaller than that....those are the ones you want to look at and avoid the mega carriers if at all possible.

licenses can transfer. people move all the time.....sometimes multiple times in a year. once you decide where you want to go find a good hotel close by and use that as a street address and get a short-term po box to receive your mail. try to make friends with someone online that would let you use their address. if you have a relative nearby talk them into lettting you use their address.....there are many ways around the address and residency issue if you can find a school you want to go to.....

So what ever state you get your schooling from you have to have a drivers license from that state? Do you also have to get your dot physical test and mvr done in that state also?

The dot card is not state pasiffic and transfering drivers liense from one state to another is one trip to the dmv office. The price flying paid , even if muliplyied by 4 is less than half you are looking at ! Not one wants to see you ripped off! And we are steering you toward our carrier just because we think its better than most . They may not be a fit for you . Call some of the schools and dmv and get an feel for the best path is for you.Just that 8900 $ price is sending up red flags to a buch of us ! We all want to see you do well in what ever you chose !

they didn't hold back anything from me and in fact tried to point out the downsides and disadvantadge of this lifestyle/career choice just to be sure I knew what I was getting into and to be sure they were getting someone who could handle life on the road and the irregular hours/schedules.

the very first thing the director of safety asked me when I interviewed with him was "what does your wife think about this career change? is she on board with it?" they are very family oriented and make sure they can accomodate the family as well as you.

so far they've done everything they said they would and were straight about everything. there have been no surprises or contradictions in anything they told me from orientation through hire.

go figure lol you won't hear that from very many on here but i got a hole in one with this one......so far anyway......if it sucked or if they were liars and cheats like alot of these other companies, I would be the very first to say so, and loudly.....and will if anything ever changes.....there is an epes thread on here but you have to search for it it doesn't show up in the carriers section. i post there every week or every other week so look it up and you can see some of the day to day stuff.

like sdaniel said, anything you want to know, feel free to pm either one of us.
