You have insurance through your mother . My wife and 3 kids have theres through me. And in the South it ain't cheap. So yes I need the insurance.

 

Was told if the company doesn't offer insurance and your a 1099 (independent contractor) then the government offers subsides(money) to help cover monthly premiums (payments) depending on your net income.....Gucci25 if you plan on being an Owner Operator (O/O) then you better get your health insurance to cover your butt and your business. One real sickness or accident not your fault and your bankrupt real quick. Don't worry your young and strong but you will understand someday.

 

Most tanker drivers running OTR make over a thousand a week. Don't know about local because I've never done that.

Thanks Chinatown I will check them all out. CDL 2 years+...... 14 months with Prime flatbed, 5 months UPS Freight subcontractor driver and 8 months Wat kins Ref rigerated. Doubles/triples, Tanker, Hazmat endorsements.

 

Trimac Elite Fleet drivers make over $100K but you can't just jump it to that fleet. It may take a few months.

 

And if you hit someone will you pay for any damages out of pocket, or just laugh about that too?.
