2 weeks is expected in most jobs.
1 month if you're in a management position.
I remember when I was working as a salesman for a cellphone provider, and after I graduated nursing school I found another job. I gave in my 2 weeks notice, and the company promptly disabled all my passwords to the computer system that I enter my orders in. Obviously a sales job sucks without commission so i spoke with my manager. She told me to give my sales to another agent and have them enter it into the computer under their ID. At that point I decided to go on holiday for 2 weeks and promptly walk out.
You should use your best judgment. It's best not to burn bridges, but if you think your company is going to leave you stranded at a rest stop a 1000 km from your home, it's best to not give them notice. -
2 weeks, Ha. I dont think so. When they are done with you your going to pull in to the yard, turn in your paperwork and they will tell. We have pulled your truck into bay 1 and were cleaning it out for you, Hope you have a ride home. Well thats the same notice I give them. Heres your key the trailer is dropped, the truck is clean and parked and I wish you well, see ya.
Why should a company expect to get more notice than they give you. -
ethically two weeks but be prepared to get pulled off schedule before you finish your sentence...
me personally... I'd give them two weeks if they've been fair with me...
If I won the lottory... well they might get a phone call, and I might even offer to pay reasonable shipping to get it back to them...lol
2 weeks notice??? lol dude my plane leaves in 90 minutes...
