Winter in NJ for a lot of dump truckers is unemployment time as in UI, and pray for snow(plow time).

No dump trucks work here except to haul snow, the price on snow has been cut so bad that most will just stay parked for the winter instead.
A lot of the dirt guys have a dump truck, to go along with their side and belly dump trailers, but the dump truck doesn't get a lot of use, easy money when it does though.
Most of the guys running dirt rigs, make plenty in the summer to vacation for the winter, some switch over and run north, but a lot just chases mama.
