Honestly... Its motivation. I really want to get back into it but just never had the desire too. I still have my camera gear so I suppose any time I could get back into it. I mainly wanted to get this big sleeper installed first and then get back into it and we'll, I finished that over a year ago and obviously havent posted anything lol. Business comes before YouTube
I do have a new motor and trans ready to go in this winter though. Will finally have real Jake brakes too .
How much static weight can an axle hold?

Static load in often putting 50% total load on Á axle of driving loads off interstate. I used to drive pickup truck far, far overloaded. Reducing speed, gentle crossing bad RR tracks, other obstructions no issues. Local guy with 1 ton damaged his hauling less. I told him it was because it was a Chevy. But it was driver.
Half ton, seed corn. Dealer had a BOGO. He must get seed gone today. I filled above sides, floor passenger side, seat up to dash. I drove 45 mph back home. Sitting little concern. Suspension going down over 12 hours? Not a huge concern to me. It’s often down +3 days without noticeable leaks.
Iirc it’s like 2 psi leak *acceptable per MINUTE? So 120 psi it can be near empty after 1 HOUR and be legal? Or is my memory wrong?
So getting low after +3 hours? Not a concern. Start planning repairs, hunting. I heard hiss. Next time I use I will use a bit of water/soap to find it. But no excitement. -
Pretty sure 46k rears are rated for 70000 something if the speeds are below 5 mph….just going off memory here
I know I have more than once backed my dump truck up to a berm and had all of the weight sitting on the rear axle….so between 38-45k on just one axle
Think about a frameless dump right before a tough load let’s go….that’s a lot of weight on the rear axle.beastr123 Thanks this. -
That's a good point. I guess another good example would be a spread axle flat with a dump valve for tighter turns. Good to know the axle can take the punishment and it makes me feel a bit better about it

Speed is definitely what I would have pointed out. The amount of force impacts from road driving puts onto the axles will be greatly increased over the actual carried load. If it's not moving anywhere, it'll be a lot stronger because it doesn't have to deal with the dynamic forces.larry_minn and beastr123 Thank this.
