If I continue on the pace I'm on, I'll eclipse $35,000 in my first year. By how much, I don't know. I agree with the poster that said that a driver can't be looking for too much hometime if they expect to make $30,000+ first year. I think planners get used to the idea that if they plan a driver for a load then they (the planner) can expect the driver to take the load and get it to it's destination. As new drivers, we have to take what's offered and get the job done to prove ourselves. Planners/dispatchers/DMs/whatever have to have a good feeling about assigning a load to a driver.

I have my HAZMAT and tanker plus my HAZMAT first responder Fire Control 4A 4B (CA Fire Marshall for LPG and flammable liquids) I'd like to drive a fuel truck but would be hard pressed to find someone to hire me fresh out of school.

I will be starting at $.35/mile with company drivers averaging 2200-2500 miles a week. Not too bad for a greenhorn. :D

How did you find that 50-55k job? What are the criteria to beat the competition?

How did he find it? I told him to go check out a place that I knew was close to him.... He went to check on a completely different job & lucked out when he walked into the door.

What's the criteria to beat the competition? Stop worrying about making 50-55k.... Lupe, I'm starting to think your looney. Everyone has told you that the only way your going to get that pay is to start at the bottom & work your way up. But yet, you think you can start at the top. Another criteria is to stop asking questions & just do it..... Your not going to get anywhere sitting behind a computer wonder if you can make 50-55k slobbering on your keyboard.

How can I bribe you to try out a new website? It'll probably answer all of your questions, or at very least lead you to the answers.

    It's at http://www.google.com
