If you don't like the work it will be difficult. It isn't hard as much as it can be sucky at times.
If you don't mind breaking a sweat or getting dirty you will be ok.

Try changing truck tires all day. That's hard work.

I like it. Except for folding my cardboard tarp and frozen together straps today.
-
Done it, hated it especially split rims

now go do it without a big air compressor. Sure does make you miss Dayton wheels.
-
Try Ferrellgas & home every day. It's propane tankers.

Never minded the work, seemed like it was harder to get loads headed home. The company I worked for made trailers so we hauled them out to dealers then they would find us something coming back to the house so we could do it again. Seemed like I did alot more sitting waiting on loads than I ever have with a reefer. Tarpping loads sucked but thats just part of it. Would do it again if I had to but as long as people keep eating I dont think I will have to.

That's something that has me wondering. I'm 50yo male, 6' 165 lb. Skinny by most peoples defintion. I don't have a prob working hard and I'm sure I could do it, but would I #### near kill myself every time I had to do it. Climbing is not a worry.

It's all about technique. Throw tarp on ground, grab it and lift up to waist (keep tarp close to your legs and arch shoulders back like doing deadlifts), bend knees and lift tarp to chest and push tarp onto flatbed with forearms (similar to clean and press exercise). Anytime I lift a tarp to my shoulder to carry it somewhere, I squat down slightly while I lift it. It's basic lifting techniques from the weight room, that's if you were a free weight guy, not a sissy machines guy. LOL281ric and buckeyedarren Thank this.

sometimes technic more than muscle. You ever see those really skinny tire guys throw the tires around like nothing, then a big ole trucker can barely pick up the tire or move it around w.out huffing and puffing
