    $525. I wouldn't even start a truck for less than $400.

No one is doing it for $2 / mile. She simply wants (expected) long distance rates for a local move.

$1000 a day regardless of miles at this point in season. Why would I want to do a job that is gonna cost me revenue?

She sounds very entitled acting. Good for her to have a charity but that doesn’t mean everything is free in life.

I think your rate is very low and would be helping her in a huge way. That would be a fairly cheap rate even in bad times. Right now a fair rate for that move is around $500 to $600 or even higher at times.

Heck there are 3000 mile cross country loads going for over $3/mi

I may do it if I was empty in that area for 800 with TONU detention layover extra but I shy away from non food items

If she's about charity that I approve of and her demeanor touched my heart, I'd do it for free. That could be that one more little deed that would weigh the balance in my favor on the judgment day.

When I was hauling cattle our short hauls were $4.50 a mile plus $200. Given that it’s a trailer if unknown mechanical repair and unknown what it will take to secure the contents I’d want close to $1000 to do it because it could turn into an all day process real quick.

1200. There are charities out there I would bring down the price for, but not to anything close to what you offered her.

Sorry, but first thing I’d be doing is finding out if the trailer is mechanically fit. Will it pass a DOT inspection, does it have a current annual? Charity outfit or not, the moment you hit public roads with it it’s on your head. God forbid something like an accident happens. In my opinion, not worth the risk.
