I agree 100 percent. With the modern day interstate system and availability of showers there is absolutely no reason for not being able to shower daily. Twice a week (or less), that's one nasty driver.

TMC is one of the better outfits as far as working for a flatbed company. I drive vans, but only because I got sick to the point of almost dying. If I had the strength, I would be hauling flatbeds and TMC would be right near the top of mmy list.

I can work for anybody. I only have three rules-
1. Don't lie to me. I'm a big boy, so tell me the truth and I'll deal with it like a man
2. Don't tell me you're going to do something then turn around and not do it. That includes pay. Pay me what you told me you're going to pay me.
3. Don't ask or tell me to do something illegal. I'm just going to flat out refuse.
those three rules are what I've worked under my entire life. I've heard the talk about TMC, and a bunch of others for that matter, being hard on rookies and students. I've had a guy at my company talk to me like I was a 12 year old once. I stopped him mid-sentence and informed him the only two things in life I HAVE to do is be white and die. That's it. Listening to him is not one of those two things. You would be real surprised how far complete and utter indifference to someone else's existence on earth will help you get through having to listen to bullies. And that's what's at of them are, just big bullies with simple little minds. Screw kindness and turning the other cheek. Make sure they know that they present about as much trouble as a cloudy day.
keep all that in mind, and you can work for ANYBODY.Last edited: May 6, 2013

There are a few posts among these pages indicating some drivers had the experiences of what I mention. I'm simply repeating what I read among these pages. I have no first-hand knowledge of what goes on there but I do know a driver who worked there for quite some time and he is the first who told me about some of the things that occurred there. He also voiced an opinion about not getting the miles he needed to make that paycheck and he was a valued driver there with an excellent record. Granted, this was a while back and things may have changed ... dunno. For a starter company TMC seems to have a decent reputation, much better than some of the other companies but if you look hard enough you can find flaws and complaints with all of the mega carriers.

If you're starting with a thin bank account you may want to check Navajo's policy on cash advances. Alot of companies will let you get $50-$100 / day when you fuel or by comcheck. Obviously, this will come out of your next check. I used to do it all the time because I didn't want to pay the ATM fees and I didn't want to carry large amounts of cash.
