I had to make a turn in Houston, Texas. It was a right turn. For those of you who are not yet truck drivers you have to make a right hand turn by taking up two lanes for a bit. The correct way to do so is to procede into the left lane and then when your trailer clears you move back into the right hand lane. If a car turns into the lane you are using as was my case you sometimes have to move to the right too soon. This will cause your trailer to run over the sidewalk and in my case a fire hydrant. The fire hydrant tore out my brake hoses. I call the fire department and a mechanic and was on my way in two hours. There were only three other wrecks cause by my truck being disabled along the road during morning rush hour. I had been a driver for all of three months when this happened. I have never again had a problem turning right. I wait until it is safe to turn. Hurrying makes you make mistakes.
You will make a mistake someday. The man in New Jersey made a mistake. Cut him some slack. With the Safety Nazi's DAC reports, we don't need to burn our own. -
If a car tries to sneak past, not my fault their to stupid to realize they won't make it.

the telephone pole, the walk signal light, and the right turn lane sign on the corners makes it very hard for 53 ft trailers in Jersey.if he is turning onto a 2 lane rd he has to take all the room he can get.Maybe you should look at the obstacles before you start driving school because city drivin isnt for sissies
