I am a new driver and hear that drivers talk about gettting tickets and don't want to be that guy. What kind of advice would you recommend? I understand that the most common type are speeding, following too close, improper lane change and reckless driving what are ways to protest yourself while driving.?

Do your pre trip, keep at the speed limit, and stay out of the restricted lanes and that's 99% of the reasion people get a ticket.
Oh, don't be an aggressive driver....Toomanybikes, misterG, tinytim and 5 others Thank this. -
Don't do those things and you should be fine. A dash cam is also a good idea.
A_C_Cooper, Bean Jr. and crazybread Thank this. -
I guess when I am on the road it would make me less nervous about getting a ticket. How does overweight tickets work? If I get a load and I am overweight and drive to the scale to get it weight would I get a ticket if I am overweight?

Next time you get empty, stop by a CAT scale and get an empty weight of your truck. That you'll know what you can carry and can avert issues as soon as you're handed a BOL.A_C_Cooper, Just passing by, G13Tomcat and 1 other person Thank this. -
thanks that make sense. The only issue that I can see that might happen is if the weight of the load is incorrect that weights more then what is it supposed to be not sure if this happens or not.

Also don't buy a fast car tickets outside of work hurt just as much as getting a ticket in the truck.
Just passing by Thanks this. -
In a truck when 3 or more lanes exist, only use the right 2 lanes.
Even a 65 mph truck can get you a speeding ticket in 55 mph or less sections. And be especially careful of your speed in small towns and school zones. -
crazybread Thanks this.
