I have a cascadia with a DD13 in it. I add coolant probably once every 6-8 weeks. Is this normal? Truck doesn’t run hot or give any other problems.

Yep, it will seep somewhere or here and there. If you’re worried tighten all clamps, check for weakened ones, or worn hoses.

You and it whenever it needs it…however I’ve had a few trucks and other machinery over the years that would pretty much spit out the top inch and then never loose another drop. So as long as it didn’t cause overheating problems I would just leave it an inch low.

Two things that will lose hydration down here in the heat are radiators and batteries. Adding coolant or water after a month of constant running down here is normal.

Same with all my stuff. They have their sweet spot. Same with oil consumption. I have a micro fiber towel wrapped around the old rad cap on my 351 because every time I top off to “spec” it spits it back out on the windshield. Lol. Then it will run forever with the top 4” of rad empty no problem.

We have a 2016 DD13 and was adding coolant every so often then the other night she went into shut down for low coolant, there's a line on the right side of the engine that has insulation around it that apparently rubs against the engine and creates a hole in the line to the point it blows out, might want to check over there.

It seams those DDs have leaks by default. My son drove a couple, had to check that coolant every day, not as much as Volvos, but what the heck is wrong with those people (whoever designed the hose routings)?

It all depends on a truck. Might be leaking EGR cooler, leaking fuel tank heater if you have one. Transmission cooler etc. gallon every 8 weeks will probably be hard to diagnose, but I’d check for traces of coolant on the hoses and radiator. Also drain a bit of diesel from Davco in clear plastic bottle every pretrip to see if you don’t have coolant
