Actually, they wish their lease payment was $4000 per month. Closer to $1600 per WEEK!

Hard to do if you live in the extreme of the country. Most companies wont bother to get you home until after training is done.
Unless you have a trainer that lives near where you live.

That is my understanding. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. To be fair, I believe that includes Insurance, plates, maintenance fund, etc. Still a bigger chunk of cash than I would be willing to put out weekly! I think the L/O driver's are paid a percentage of the load. I think about 65-70% of Prime drivers fall into that category. So ........many
of them somehow make it work. I think they have a fleet approaching 10,000 trucks. Company Driver suits me just fine.

The company I’m interested in is Wilson. The length of the training is the issue. Prime was never a consideration but Wilson has modeled their program on Prime that’s why I mentioned it.

Here is my understanding, so it may not be 100%accurate. If you do not have a cdl yet you will get it Springfield, then go out for 2-3 weeks with your trainer. After that time you will return to Springfield then test out with the DMV for your cdl. After acquiring your CDL you will run with your trainer for roughly 7 more weeks to acquire 20,000 miles of driving. Some trainees do go home between their 2 OTR training periods, but it's preferred you log as much of that training time in a single go as you can.

right if you don’t have your CDL it’s 2 to 3 weeks then you come back and get your CDL then you’re in the C seat. 10k miles-$600 a week. Which I’m assuming as a team will take about two or three weeks. if you do well there you upgrade to the BC which is $700 a week and 20,000 miles so that’s 4 to 6 more weeks as a teen miles.

assuming you do well then you come back trainer signs off and you get a truck for your one week solo. After you do well with that then you become a company driver. So altogether we are looking at 6 to 8 weeks of training if you already have your CDL and 10 to 12 weeks most likely if you don’t. That’s a long #### time I’m sure it’s a really good training program however that probably creates much better drivers more confident.

I like this company for several reasons and I don’t think they are a CDL mill. I’m pretty convinced at this point and I need to go do a year over the road to get what I want to in this industry. However it does seem like there will be no Hometime for at least close to two maybe three months in the beginning.

I'm fairly sure during those between times you could get some hometime, depending in where home is, but that will drag out the time more as you may have to wait more than a week for a trainer. Also, if you have a trainer you get on well with do you want to risk the getting paired with an individual you don't?

Right...Basically I want to start with this company and they want to hire me. I want to drive their western 11 which gets me home every 5-7 days. I will be basing out of Idaho..I have stated in other threads that Covid put me out of business so I'm retraining with the intent of at some point becoming an owner operator. Very kind and knowledgable professionals on these forums which have been a godsend, have convinced me not to get my own authority and equipment right off the bat which I can afford, and go learn. Right now unfortunately I'm in FL but we will be relocating out to Idaho ASAP.
