depends of the transmission condition. My current fuller 10 is hands down bad, its very difficult to shift it quietly. Earlier on other truck I have met just impeccable fuller's ten, where upshifting was smooth like a butter. It depends of synchro condition, previous driver abuse, etc. Also used to drive Meritor's ten's - very precise and smooth - you have to learn a moment when to shift. If you catch it, you a fine. Feels much more accurate and no so fuzzy as Fuller. The Fuller's problem is quickly degrading stick bushing. Eaton does NOTHING to fix that over years. Just my 2 cents...

I NEVER grind, but then again, I have that new manual 1 speed tranny.

Never! I drive an automatic and I hate it! I take that back. An automatic is great for stop and go traffic but for everything else it sucks!
-
What automat do you use?
-
If your not grinding your not driving....... Naw I use to grind some but not alot. Pending if I am paying attention to the shifting or dumb 4 wheelers

I drive a 2012 Volvo with the iShift

Hmm, they claim it the best automat in a world. What exactly you dont like in it? Responsivness, slowliness, incorrect shift point, what?

The transmission is great. I've had no mechanical problems with it. I just like the feel of a shifter in my hand. I'll retract my statement about hating it. Such a strong word. I don't hate it, I dislike it. But like I said, it's awesome for stop and go traffic!
