    Almost always.... ;)

I've noticed a couple of problem positions on the stick, and there are a couple of transitions with the splitter that are a challenge. Definitely a transmission that likes to bark back. As other's have noted, there are good days and bad days...

I have a super 10 tranny and rarely grind it but like others said, when I'm tired I get lazy and will under rev to downshift.... The newer trucks I drive when my trucks being serviced, I am a PRO, i will never grind a single gear or even miss a shift, even when I'm dead tired... Oh btw, did I mention the newer trucks are automatic lol

I grind every now and again but, not too much. I use to do road tests at my last company and we had a mix of Eatons and Mack transmissions, the Mack maxitorques really gave drivers problems if they weren't used to them. Of course, Macks give a lot of drivers problems even with Eatons if they aren't used to the power band.

It's not the tranny's fault that you drank too much and couldn't see the Adam's Apple

    Much less when I float.
But when I do, it is usually going from 8 to 7
And when a stop light is so #### long that I take her out of gear

Even us old drivers who drove the old straight cut 5n4's are not so perfect that we don't make the occasional rough shift. And like a few have said, when you get tired it's worse. But a couple other points, if you are having trouble getting into gear out of neutral, that's the clutch brake. If you are mechanically inclined, you can set them up yourself, to solve that problem. Unless someone, stepped the clutch to the floor boards while rolling, and snapped the tabs off, then it's gotta be changed out. The other scenario I noticed mentioned was going from hi to low range grinding. That's not the driver, that's the syncro in the trans. which needs to be checked/replaced. (Tip: if you are a rough, slap er in kind of driver, try "feeling" the gears. No clutch, palm of your hand on the top of the knob, take your time, and feel the syncronization happen as you match the engine rpm to the gear you are going into. Takes time, be patient, but what a great feeling when you start to get it.
