With all due respect, I hear the opposite...
I hear drivers moaning and groaning about someone taking more than 30 seconds to complete a back... Being new myself and although I would not mind the help at times, I can do without the criticism during a back.
But I do keep a CB in my truck as it does come in very handy for road conditions during bad weather, accidents, etc. As well as some customers using it for communication with the Drivers on their yard.
Only had like one fun interesting rolling conversation while driving so far but hopefull of more in the future.
Stay Safe,
MD
How often is the CB used?

They run channel 15 running North on Interstate 5 from Lake Castaic up to route 46 and the Whole Bakersfield area.
then north of route 46 they switch to Channel 17 all the way to the Canadian border.x1Heavy, WotansVolkman and JReding Thank this. -
The one's who need the radio on the most [to listen for stopped traffic alerts] seems are the ones watching YouTube videos and can't be bothered with CB traffic interrupting their viewing and listening enjoyment. ... And will be on the afternoon news as the idiot who was distracted and ran into the backend of traffic, killing three.

I'm LTL and have a CB. I keep it on prob 90% of the time. I occasionally get tired of the political nonsense and turn the volume down. they're handy to have. I use it at our terminals as most of them utilize a CB radio.

I still believe in having a CB with me. It is useful and they do not cost a lot of money. If you need to talk to another truck they are very handy. The entertainment value of them is right around Zero to me but their emergency value is priceless.
I can be on the phone talking to the wife or girlfriend and still get a warning coming over the CB. CB broadcast to everyone not just one at a time.
Of course, not using it has created a problem with the language. I was coming into a town in Colorado, and I love looking for wildlife. The CB informed me of a Bear on the edge of the Golf Course. I didn't see it but there was I Sheriff's car there. I almost stopped to ask him what kind of bears lived there.lagbrosdetmi, cnsper and trucking for family Thank this.
