One of the best truck driving schools is very close to you in Henderson, CO. It is Sage Tech Truck Driving School, look them up on the internet they have a lot of information. Good luck.

My profound thanks to all who took the time to answer my post.
Anyone out there who has any feedback on SouthEastern Community College of Nebraska? CRETE who seems to have a lot of good feedback on this forum hires recent students from there.
Once again...thanks to everyone. -
I would suggest a local school also. I would also recomend May Trucking. I work for them(3 months). Best training pay and best starting pay, and a good company for stsrting out. They treat us well and plenty of miles. Have a terminal in Denver with a great staff.

I would seriously consider charter buses again if you enjoyed it!
Short of that in the long run you make more the first year if you can pay your own way.
Example: When I did my year at Schneider, (By the way, one of the better companies to train with as you can learn alot and would get access to the skid pad and their training is respected in the industry despite any of their other short commings) in 1998 I earned 33k when the average guy was getting around 44k If I had paid 3k back then I probably could have cut that gap considerably.
Research each company that offers free school. Decide how often you want to be home. I run 125000 miles per year but i'm never home. Do your calculations on 110k miles and see what that pays at the rate you get hired at. -
Thanks to everyone who gave some advice.
I look forward to joining (some of you at least) on the road.

I just graduated from Sage in Henderson - and trucking will be my third career.moonshadow Thanks this. -
Actually moonshadow, us older fella's...agewise that is....who have had a stable work history...I just retired after 30 years with GM...and a squeeky clean driving and criminal record, have an advantage in the trucking industry, over someone just starting out in life. If it's really something you want to do, and it fits your life the way it is now, go for it, I am...you only live once.
moonshadow Thanks this. -
