Well im looking for some feed back on how percentage it payed to owner operators im new to the owner operator world does the feul come of the top and you get lets say 70 percent on that dollar amount ? Let's say you pick up a 1500 $ load and the feul is 225 $ how much should I make on this load
Percentage comes off the gross. Eg: the truck grosses $20,000 for the month, company takes their 20%, leaves $16,000. Now your fuel, plates, insurance, what have you comes off of that. What ever is left they cut you a cheque for.
depends on the company.. some companies take the fuel (fsc) off the gross then you get your percentage of what's left using your numbers $1,500 gross - fuel (fsc) $225 = linehaul of $ 1,275 your percentage would be for the linehaul say 75% = $956.25 then add your fsc of $225 = $1,181.25 to the truck... mines what you spent on fuel and your fixed cost
I think that carriers are required by truth in leasing regulation to pass on 100% of the fsc. Of course there are quite a few that don't
Unknown to me. With some of the things I've seen, I don't think there are any set of ground rules that incur penalty. And where would the penalty come from? Some guys can take the worst set of circumstances and turn it into a pile of gold. Others can take a mountain of gold and turn it into a pile of ####.
