I was just in NLV doing a 34 the other week. Thought about getting in contact and sticking around Henderson over by the dam instead. Good thing I didn’t. Spent the next 40 hours throwing up in the Petro parking lot with the flu lol
How realistic is it to make 75-80k a year eventually?

Call broker back and was given a third number, go back and it's no good. Call broker yet again and given yet another number, same thing; load was shipped already. Call broker back and told to wait 30 minutes while they look into it. Finally company calls me and says to deadhead out of there as the load was canceled.
Anyone familiar with this state knows how rare truck stops are and I was very lucky to find a gas station along a state route with parking for five trucks. So it looks like it will be a sink shower for me tonight and over 48hrs wasted slithering around NJ for nearly free.
This is the type of crap you'll be dealing with OP. I am on track to make $60k this year. I hope you're good at flip-flopping your sleep schedule because sometimes you'll be driving at night and other times during the day. Stay where you're at is my best advice.Jtuminelli and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Most of these problems are with the mega carriers, which I don't see why people stay for over a year or go at all. Started off at 70k regional last year, home every Thursday or Friday to Monday, & home during the week at least one day doing reefer. Could be more if I want it. At 80k now. I did my research prior & there are well paying companies without being on the road for weeks but I also throw a little freight that I am well compensated for. Had a few company drivers make 100k+ but were out for weeks and weeks at a time. Find a company that actually cares about you
