How realistic is it to make 75-80k a year eventually?

    Maybe you should look for a promotion or a position change with your current company. If you think 55 hours is a lot for 75K, you'll be surprised by the hours you have to pull to get anywhere near that in the trucking industry....especially as a newbie. Believe me, there is no work/life balance and you get to see the worst of humanity (people are generally nice until they get behind their steering wheels). Plus, e-logs haven't made this industry any easier.

    That’s around about what I’m making. It’s my first year. Depending on the routes I get it’s like 60k plus. One weekly check was 3k because I worked a long route a week I was supposed to be off. That was last weeks check. This week will be smaller, but avg it out it’s pretty good for me being a rookie.

    It’s a lot of work driving and loading in a negative degree reefer. Gone weeks at a time.
