No trucking company can MAKE a driver bang their license up !!!!!
.....Sure some companies will try to for the sake. of driver retention

But the decisions the driver makes with his\her driver's license is ultimately up to per said driver

Taking care of your CDL is part of your job as a CDL holder, no one else cares about your CDL when it comes to making $
I don't know a single trucking company that wouldn't mind gambling with my CDL in the 30 +yrs of my driving adventures
....so quit yer sniffling about some truckng company made you mess up your CDL
Read up on the LAWS and you will find out that in most cases the LAWS are on YOUR side to protect not only YOU but anyone ELSE on the highway with you (me)

No they pretty much tell you that you'll be living in a truck for two to three weeks bringing home $700-$900 a week in exchange for 3 or 4 days off a month.

Thanks for this. Recently, I've been suspended at work for refusing to do something that would kill me or cause a violation. I stood my ground and am dealing with the "consequence" but it will be the employer who pays some horrible legal fees in the end. This is your career, OP. You're the captain of the ship. If they tell you to compromise your safety, give them a bit of the middle finger (respectfully) and challenge it. Build up a savings account too , or else you'll get evicted in the process.

Everyone new to this industry needs to be aware of a Federal law under OSHA 11(c) that protects you from this type of exploitation. While the federal government is slow to investigate these claims, they do investigate. And if you have a viable complaint, you can usually get a lawyer on them before the government even investigates.

I'm thinken dispatcher and if that is the case I very much doubt his dispatcher was distracting him when he was driving.Just because they call you or send a message while you're driving doesn't mean to answer it right away. That's the drivers own fault if he lets such things distract him.

A DBL is a driver's point of contact with SNI. They do not however dispatch the truck. I like to think of my DBL as my enforcer. When I have problems I call up the DBL and he picks up his Louisville Slugger and does battle with the office drones so I don't have to. But I have a good DBL.

I know on the surface it looks like a screwy way to run a railroad but it actually makes a lot of sense once you understand the hierarchy and scale of the business. Corporate structure isn't our problem. Our problem (or one of them) is hiring entry level employees with three brain cells for all positions - mechanics, drivers, office, etc.

The system does work if the right people are involved and having another resource is important. However, my DBL and dispatcher are now the same person...

That's because you're one of those dedicated freaks. Why we don't beat you like the red headed step child you are is beyond me.
