This is again one of the things that I am dealing with do to my own authority. You are required by law to check the past 10 years of CDL jobs or 3 years of non CDL jobs. All you have to do is put down the stuff as close as you can remember it. If the places are closed, put that down. If you were unemployed put the dates down you were unemployed and have someone vouch for you. They are looking for Drug related things. So don't put down I was working in a big warehouse in Denver that supplied medical and recreational plants to a bunch of bed bug spreading hippies.

Yeah this #### is a little ridiculous, I attend school with many ppl with records and DUIs.. For someone with a clean record I feel its pretty absurd for me to have to worry about fighting for employment due to lack to VERIFIABLE wrk history... I can only verify a little over a year... If that's not enough guess ill put together whatever they want/need to hear lolG13Tomcat Thanks this.

Before I got my first job in trucking my ten year employment would have included two runs for US Congress, years of running banks in Africa, a year in prison, and time as a professional poker player. I got hired. But then again, for a short, fat man with no teeth, I am very handsome.

i have a spotty work history and a class b felony for asault on a police officer. i cleared 2000 dollars last week driving and this week looks even better.bottom line. if you have your cdl and the desire...and you dont have to run home toWeeezerd Thanks this. -
This is all I can tell you about TMC and their verification process.....What ever information you give them it better be accurate and withstand scrutiny. You may make it to orientation for about 3 days. But when they are thru doing their back ground checks on you, and they find things you did not disclose, or to be accurate you will find yourself out the door buying your own bus ticket home. For those who get to orientation take notice every time the phone rings during class. When you see a person get up and go out the door, he is gone!

Per FMCSA rules you are to give up to 10 year CDL driving history. There is no rule covering general employment history however most carriers ask for three years. Most carriers check DAC and MVR records.

Makes no difference how serious they are, don't lie and don't worry about it. I was self employed for over a decade and that doesn't translate into a very good "job history" at all. I always tell them that up front and tell them what their looking at is the closest I could come to translating what I did into "employment" and that's as accurate is it could be. Every once in a while I'll get a call over it, and I just repeat what I told them the first time. Hasn't been an issue yet.White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this.

I'll tell you what i found when i went through tmc. As others stated. Be accurate as possible. Do not lie, do not "forget" something. If it isn't factually accurate and they find you deliberately falsified info, you will be taking the walk of shame
