Final update: I did speak with my dispatcher, and asked if I could get a bit of a breather between loads occasionally. We are 90% drop and hook so he said to just wait until I was ready for my next load to send in the empty call. When he gets the call he will throw the next on, he said he was surprised I was always ready for the next load... so just a new guy misunderstanding how the company works. Thanks for the advise and suggestions everyone. This site has been a godsend

One thing you need to keep in mind and as a company driver it doesn't always cross your thoughts but if the truck does not make money then they would be better off cutting the truck all together because the $2800 a month truck payment and the $1400 a month trailer payment and the insurance which is about $1200 a month will still have to be paid no matter if the truck runs or not. Being fair on the deal if you need a break have them send you home for a few days get some good home time then go back at it again. Companies have to be fair with the drivers but in turn the drivers have to understand that if the trucks don't run then the companies can't make the bills they have due so you won't have a job when all the smoke clears. Communication is very important between the driver and dispatcher and if you need some time off because you are burnt out then tell them. Every driver gets burnt out at some time or another.
