Haha. Man. My truck has auto traction control and anti roll. I changed the steering wheel and the dumb computer faulted. See, the steering wheel has a chip in it. Well, I found out the truck handles better and has more power without the stupid system. See, my load moves, all the time, so I think the traction control and anti roll were applying brakes and cutting power to compensate for the movement of my load. Now I have to stare at a stupid traction control message on my dash. Oh well.
I won’t be getting another truck after this one. -
The second step is getting your cruise to work after that.
And yes , you do that once your rolling down the hat.shatteredsquare and izifaddag Thank this. -

My post has nothing to do with you. -
He complained of constant beeping, thus was habitually following too closely.
@Blackshack46 (who needs to charge his phone btw) responded to the OP in a now deleted post, but the attachment remains.
It was and is very clear. Just relax, look for the big picture, and don't go off half ####ed.Blackshack46 Thanks this. -
THIS post is directed at you and the reason you know that is because I hit the reply button and your post is quoted at the top.
I am sure that you are right and that this guy's post was aimed at Tripac. However apparently some people don't know how to use a forum.
The rest of this post is NOT aimed at gentleroger. It is general - because this happens all the time - also it is not particularly focused on this single bar room lawyer, Blackshack, ONLY but at all of them sprinkled through Truckers Report and every horse shoe counter everywhere.
Here is why I responded the way I did.
This was a sanctimonious, virtue signaling post.
It starts with "I got trapped by a 4 year old thread".
An "oh dear I have to teach them again" type of thing. A "Good job they have me to point out the obvious" post. "If only they would listen".
A suggestion. Instead of sticking around for 4 years move on.
(Sidenote :- Onguard is a piece of dangerous garbage and experienced truck drivers don't need to be told what a safe following distance is by a beeping nightmare.)
This is accompanied by a page from the FMCSA website to add validity. Added I assume to teach everyone, yet again, because he has been trapped here for 4 years, trying in vain to teach everyone what a correct following distance is.
Apparently that is how he spends his free time reading and memorizing the FMCSA website. A goody two shoes. I did not answer it purely for myself.
So don't tell me to 'relax, or not to go off 'half ####ed'.
I see these self righteous types on TR all the time. "If you knew what I know sonny you would be wise" types.
I ignore the majority of them but they are sickening.
Nothing useful to say just "I told you so".
Your buddy is one of those.
His response to a perfectly legitimate post? "Calm your tits down".
Nice.
Finally. There isn't any page from the FMCSA or anywhere else that is going to influence my decision on following distance. Personally, I am very conservative on that preferring a good amount of distance to give an opportunity for evasive action. As opposed to the morons I see climbing up the butt of a car parked in the fast lane.
I do not need a dangerous gadget that can slam my brakes on or kill the cruise randomly. Anyone who advocates for them is an idiot.
Ok, I have nothing else to do would the next contestant care to step up? -
driverdriver Thanks this.
