Ok, so I know this is an old post on how to disable the wabco onguard but so far no one that I know has figured it out. Well ,I have. It is very simple.
    Facts:
    1. this works on a manual truck. Haven't tried it on an automatic yet.
    2. You can still use cruise control.
    3. It doesn't show up on any computer or PM schedule.
    4. No resetting needed.
    5. Requires a torqx ( star bit) set ,pair of pliers ,and specifically (3 M ) double sided tape. One black zip tie medium length. Diagonal cutter.
    Here is the directions .
    1. Locate the display on the dash.
2.locate the (4) or more torqx screws holding the panel to the dash.
    3. Remove the panel.
    4. Remove the two small nuts holding the unit in the dash panel
    5. Zip tie the wire going in the back of the unit to a wire close to it in the dash. Make sure to leave enough slack in the wire to pull it through the hole in the panel.
    6. Re install the dash panel
    7. Pull the display unit out.
8 . Unplug the display unit, leave it laying in a cup holder or somewhere close.
    9. ******Attention******
When you are taking the truck to the shop hook the unit back up. Put the double sided tape on the back of the unit in two small strips on each end.
    *********** Why this works?***********
If you try to block the radar Antenna on the front of the truck . The signal bounces back at to fast .what you are doing when removing the dash display is actually causing a bypass mode to engage. This also gets rid of that pesky predictive cruise control. Just standard cruise control.

In the Freightliner I'm driving, I put aluminum foil on the box and taped it in place. It disabled the box's ability to apply the brakes and reduce throttle. If I remember correctly it stopped the beeping also. The downside, it disabled my ability to use the cruise control. Didn't take but a few miles before I stopped to remove the foil.

If you hold the up and down arrows when you start the truck it disables it...cruise still works, you just have to set/cancel quickly twice for it to latch...and it's no longer active cruise. (Great for the zombies who will slow down upon seeing a big rig come up behind them, active cruise slows down, they slow down even more, active cruise slows down even more...going 50 in a 70 now...not even sure if they are breathing...if they are breathing it's through their mouth or their skin...)
