Drive it like any other truck. Don't pay attention to those who say never look in the mirror because it will freak you out. You've got to check the mirrors like any other time. I drove triples and it's just a matter of getting use to them. You'll know after awhile that doubles and triples turn much better than a semi. That's only understandable since you have two pivot points half way back on your set up. There was one turn in the NV on US95 where I would make a right turn and could look out my right window and see the last box making the turn.

The big difference here is your inspections. There's more to check with the converter gears and I suggest you go over your CDL handbook before you take the test.

Hey GasHauler, I reread my statement about the mirrors and it does come off as don't look at them. I really meant to not concentrate solely on them. I found myself watching the trailer dance around one night and had to remind myself it was hooked up correctly and that people have been pulling doubles forever, mine is not going to go anywhere.

I understand. I would load up in Las Vegas at night and head out to Reno and the wind would be blowing like crazy. But in all my trips with triples the last box never whipped enough to cross the line. Sure they dance more than anyone would be use to but they stay where they should and like you said if they don't then there's been something wrong somewhere. Semi's are so much easier especially with pre-trip and post-trips. You'll be lucky if the company only requires you to put the first box to the dock. I had to make sets in the desert or anywhere else they had accounts and some were mines. You can do it in 15 min. but you can't miss anything. That's any box in any location. You'll be able to do if they teach you right.
