I was a little slow on the uptake, but I understand now.

We have lots of crappy looking trucks doing cans out of Cleveland Ohio. Been intermodal for apprx 20 years. Never seen .88 p/ mile. I average around 2.00 / mile. Some weeks 2.50 or more. Some less. That is by my speedometer miles, not pie in the sky book miles. I fully realize that there is better and worse out there. But i am usually home every night, and weekends.

Yes, can haulers are the lowest life form known to man on the face of the planet.

That seems more like what I would have thought, as most are local or regional runs. thank you for adding that information. So, is most of that off the great lakes or by rail?

FL is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Lots & lots of cheap carriers. Your better off leading to one of the companies to get the lay of the land before you jump in with 2 feet. Or just interview a couple and see what their rates are.

Don't know where you're from, but out here in the LA area they are just rolling road blocks. Doing 50mph in the passing lane, pacing each other side by side and not a care in the world for the rules of the road.
I tried to talk to one of them, but he just smiled and nodded his head. What you gonna do, you get a few bucks in your pocket and you can buy your license anywhere.
