I started off pulling around 1400 to 1450 but it didn't pull that good to me. Been pulling around 1500 to 1700 lately and it's been better. Still can not out pull my friend yet. But better. It's a 2013 isx
-
That's where mine does it's thing best too. Most anyone who's seasoned on an ISX will all agree, they're a higher RPM engine than the literature portrays them to be.dirthaller and Cummins 15 Thank this.

My old man went from a C15 to an ISX in his last truck. Same specs just different engine. He said that ISX mopped the floor with the Cat as long as he kept it above 1400.Cummins 15 Thanks this.

I try to keep it above 1400 but it still feels as if it falls on its face at times
-
I didn't have much seat time in either truck apart from moving them around the yard but I hated how sensitive the throttle on the ISX was.
lester Thanks this. -
Cummins have to be wound up. 1500 at least.
I don't want to think about today's cummins. Ive always hung my hat with at least a Detroit or a Cat. -
Is your dpf plugged?

I hated mine for the first year I owned it so bad that I tried different things like putting a conical compression spring under the accelerator to calm it down.
Then one day I was discussing this with my Cummins guru and told him I can't stand the acceleration no matter what I do. He looked into it and discovered that there's two settings in the ECM parameters...one is "automotive governor", the other is "continuous governor ". Mine was set on automotive. Switched to continuous and now it accelerates like a 3406 Cat and it's a pleasure to drive.
I almost sold that truck due to the sloppy fuel delivery system. -
Is the check engine light on? When is the last time the DPF was cleaned? Do you use any oil between PM's? Using any coolant?
