The guys in Cali who have conditioned themselves to think this way are their own worst enemies.
I seriously doubt they're getting a flat $3, but even so, we'll use that number.....
$3x3,000 = $9,000 $1.20x3,000 = $3600... $9,000 and $3,600 divided by 6,000.... $2.10 per mile....
A new carb compliant reefer is going to set you back 70k, that's just the purchase price, that's not the fuel, maintenance, insurance, tires, etc..
Now, at first glance $2.10 a mile seems pretty good, I mean if somebody offered me $2.10 for all the miles I could drive, I'd think... ok....
Until I figured out what the trailer was costing me, and how cheap the $3,600 dollar backhaul actually was....KB3MMX, Dave_in_AZ, Classic97 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Your welcome....I'm always willing to help whomever...I'm not taking any info to the grave with me...Sunkiss Thanks this.

I know this thread is old, but what is the average a broker makes a load?

Thumbs up dude! I do have more than zero exp., but I am about a year out from getting my own authority and every one is telling me the same thing. Even my boss, who of course has his own aurth. and 7 trucks he runs at an okay profit. Its funny how ppl who have their own auth and succeed will tell every one that it can't be done. I think they just want to keep the competition down lol
