Most will think that is a joke mike. They have no real idea how true it is.

My mom's cousin was a bullhauler in the 70s. He used to run loads into Greeley for Monfort if I'm not mistaken. Running 4-5 days straight on uppers. About killed his heart.
Tall Mike Thanks this. -
their's been many drivers killed or hospitalized just cause they were in the wrong spot loading a pot and it'll happen b4 u know it

Hauling bull rack is not for the meek or timid... out west, they run at night 80+ MPH til they get where they are going. That means no stopping, at all. Many situations require bending or completely throwing out DOT's hours of service regs. Also, knowing where scales are and how to quickly get around them. It's one of the very last of the outlaw jobs, and also physically demanding.... and knowing about the critters you haul(example: American Bison, will not kick you and leave you alone like cattle.... they will stomp on you til you're dead... so extra care MUST be taken when dealing with them)

Yep I'd suggest having atleast a little experience with cattle before you do it and you'll never forget that first load especially when the push you right through a red light.

What are these hours of service you are talking about. If it's night we like to bump the triple digits 80 won't do.
Course nobody wants an outlaw around. We used to be respected for doing a job that had to be done, in such a way that it was as humane as possible. Now we are viewed as less than human, I pull a grain wagon most of the time these days. But I will always be a BULLHAULER.bobbyhill, shredfit1, Cowmobile and 1 other person Thank this. -
How much do you normally tip a cow?
Is 15% enough or can you get by with 10% per cow when tipping a whole herd?
-
I think it depends on what the cow heard! Are you tipping for good service, or to keep the cow from gossiping about what she heard?
Mr Ed Thanks this. -
I'd start out hauling the cattle that are cut up and in boxes. This business is hard enough, I don't need my freight to crap on me.
WesternPlains Thanks this.
