I second the HP 3-in-1. If you want something better, get a page-feed/flatbed scanner. Makes scanning those BOL with 20-30 pages so much easier. Your inverter will work fine. Printers are rather low-power items.

Dealing with internet faxes or emailed paperwork, remember to update Adobe Reader, as you can sign things electronically without having to print-and-scan anything. Only thing I need the printer/scanner for is the occasional broker that requires originals and I have to print out the rate confirmation, invoice, etc. That and to scan the BOL in the first place.

That's more than enough, I have a 400 watt inverter and it runs my computer and printer with ease. It will also run my TV and separate DVD player with ease.

I have an all in one printer in my truck and do everything by email. I keep a laptop for scanning and emailing, but use my Android phone primarily for printing and looking for loads. Like you, my wife does most of the load searching, setting up accounts and invoicing. She uses Quickbooks to generate invoices and emails them directly to me.

Make sure you set up a file on your computer that has all the necessary documents for setting up new accounts with brokers.
