believe it or not, this is quite a common occurrence among those that feel they are done driving or think they are done, "why bother keeping such an expensive license, with maybe the hazmat test to take each time at renewal when i won't be driving no more".

then they get "that feeling" again to drive, why they get this feeling i do not know, but they do....then they realize they messed up big time and when they find out they NEED to go do this crap all over again, some (not all, but some) get so angry at the whole situation when they are in school again BEING TOLD THEY ARE WRONG when doing the maneuvers, the road training, the classroom, they fight you all the way, thinking they "Know it all"..... when in fact if they KNEW anything, they wouldn't have turned in thier licenses in the first place....

yep, i have seen this a few times, and it CAN GET ugly.......

Heck, he knows so many 'mom & pop' owners that he could get back to it easily IF he really wanted to. I don't think he really wants to, just kind of goes back to thinking about it once in awhile. Heck, he's on retirement now!

He still has the license. He's on a contact list for the state here. They contact him to move trucks from the scale house to a truck stop near Madison if the driver needs to be able to take care of some things. He still gets behind the wheel once in awhile.

This pretty much sums it up. "That feeling" for me comes mostly from missing the $$. I am working part time now at minimum wage and it just doesn't cut it.

Hello how much does it cost to take the skills test in one their trucks at their school ? i have my Alabama cdl -A permit with HazMat, Tanker, Doubles and triples? I drove from 1982 -1995 in NC . Changed to class C, Thought i would not go back on the road but now all my children are grown and want to get back on the road (have road fever, wife will ride with me but not drive)

Do they offer road testing as a third party tester(how much do they charge now 05/11/2015)? how much using their equipment? How do I go about testing with them?
