Many drivers live in the truck and bank most of their paycheck. Some have lived in the truck for years and perfectly content with the life. Some have posted they're saving for a comfy retirement in the Orient. You'd probably love that!

It might not be a bad idea...to try to talk to one or more of the CDL instructors there...& ask them what "starter" carriers have been hiring from that school, of late.

Given your heavy debt -- you will of course need to acquire CDL employment pretty soon after you finish....

If hiring there has slowed....that's worth knowing, as well.....

Excellent advice! Thank you. I’ll definitely ask about that, and hopefully get an honest, straightforward answer.

If the school has problem finding employment for you, let us know. We have a pretty good record of helping drivers find employment.

Thank you sooo much for your offer of help! I’ll definitely reach out to you. I’ll also make sure to post an update after I visit the school on Monday. I really appreciate all the responses. It’s given me newfound hope after a week of refusals.

If that CDL school is truly "worth its salt"....at least a few carriers should visit your class....as you move thru the CDL curriculum....& tell you about the opportunities & training they have to offer to you...should you be hired.

Those carriers are there....because they are looking to hire from there....due to the track record that school has produced....with the quality of the instruction that school has demonstrated, over time...

Be sure you understand -- that CDL school (like all the others) isn't meant to take/teach you all the way to professional-level driving; instead, they teach you just enough to pass their course....& get that CDL.

Where you will REAL-LY LEARN TO DRIVE LIKE A PRO....will instead occur at your first CDL carrier job.

That's where the action truly starts. :occasion5:
