    You forgot a detail, though.
    Once Onwardagain finds out who those carriers are, they better come back here to get your sage advice (and ours, of course) as to which one is not the worst.

    Thank you for this! I’ll research all of those today. I’m really looking forward to meeting with the school’s financial advisor on Monday to find out more about whether or not I’d qualify for the grant. Also going to meet with the advisor of the CDL program to make sure I can attend. I’ll definitely update on this thread so that other new drivers might have some sort of roadmap or a glimpse of hope. Thanks everyone!

    Remember, schools ALWAYS say "now is a good time to start school" because they want more customers. The industry is slow right now. Don't go to school until you find the job first. Even if the state pays for your school if there isn't a job waiting for you and you don't work for months you may be required to complete refresher training before work. That could cost you money.

    There is no driver shortage. It's a media story they keep repeating because another media outlet reported it once.
